Crafting Rules Serverwide

These crafting rules are simple and realistic, bottom line, things get out of hand, but can always be worked around. You must, as the player, agree to these simple and easily followed laws. the reason these are inflicted are to prevent the unrealistic tendencies which people OOCly draw from a selection of crafting which their char ICly wouldn't know how to craft any of the items within otherwise.

Everybody MUST, I repeat MUST under any circumstance, refrain from lolrunning around the map searching for materials to craft with and lolgrabbing and saving them up. This system pretty much forces people to keep their options focused on specific things if they want to learn how to craft them with development providing many diverse and fun character types.

Some Basic Overview Knowledge
As citizens, in half life 2, not everybody is going to have extensive knowledge of how to do every single versatile thing with 100% effectiveness. This means as citizens you all do not have knowledge of how to build a large combine modified weapon such as the modified MP7. You don't know how to build things which require extensive amounts of tinkering with, because you are confined to the plaza, and restricted access to being alone all the time long enough to fool around with things

Keep in mind, CCA are not mentioned as a crafting asset as they literally have no reason to craft something unless they are rogue. All CCA brand items are optimum efficiency, which is better than High. (This is because they are all mass manufactured and not simply crafted by hand) Efficiency is the durability to damage ratio of the weapon. Time is your greatest ally.

Weapons/Ammo:

9mm Pistol:
- Inexperienced: would have basic comprehension of how to put together a few broken parts to yield a workable pistol if time and care is spent, though it will not be as effective as a regular pistol and will therefore be LOW EFFICIENCY They must be trained by a citizen who has tinkered around or has been shown by another citizen who has learned from a more experienced individual. : Basic Dwelling Citizens 



- Trained: This class of citizen would have more time on his/her hands to gather the parts they need and the effectiveness of putting together the common pistol could become slightly more effective yielding a MEDIUM EFFICIENCY pistol. : Long time Refugees/Basic Lambda
 




- Experienced: depending on the knowledge and use of weapons and tinkering would begin to develop a basic-excellent understanding in the crafting a design of pistol creation, each time they build it, it would become more efficient. HIGHER EFFICIENCY pistol would be created. : High Level Lambda 



Modified CCA MP7:
- Inexperienced: would have very little knowledge about his foreign crafted item. The mechanics are that of a military grade assault rifle/smg which anybody with basic inexperienced knowledge would make this item NOT CRAFTABLE by them. : Average Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: This class of citizen would have more time on his/her hands to gather the parts they need and the effectiveness, they would need to be trained by someone knowledgeable to fall into this class of building the SMG. They would need to spend at least a week IC TIME working and establishing how to craft by tinkering and fooling with broken smg parts and such OR would have to learn from a mentor of some kind. This weapon would prove MODERATE EFFICIENCY : Long time Refugees/Basic Lambda



- Experienced: After long spent hours of tinkering and learning how to best go about reinforcing, assembling, anti-rusting and finding the best suitable parts possible, the experienced person would be able to assemble a very reliable means of weaponry. This would prove as a RELIABLE EFFICIENCY weapon. : High Level Lambda 



Modified Spas 12 Pump Action Shotgun:
- Inexperienced: this shotgun is a military grade weapon which has been also modified by the CCA, this weapon can be often seen by the higher ranks of the CCA and it only remains an intimidating question in your brain leaving it absolutely UNCRAFTABLE by any means. : Basic Dwelling Citizens 



- Trained: This class of citizen would need to spend an amount of disassembly and processing time to accurately figure out how to put together this strength wearing powerhouse of a close range weapon. Being CCA modified, it's crafting method would be very taboo and strange to learn. It would take about 2 Weeks ICLY to learn through trial and error or with a mentor, the methods of crafting this weapon. It would be crafted at a MODERATE EFFICIENCYLong time Refugees/Basic Lambda



- Experienced: Your time with crafting this weapon has exceeded IC months of tinkering and experimentation. You have learned a lot about the manufacturing of the CCA enough to create a very action packed and defensive weapon which can now be considered MEDIUM EFFICIENCYHigh Level Lambda 



Revolver:
- Inexperienced: would most likely have 0 knowledge of how to craft this item, your knowledge about the item may be there but the workings and such of the item are too complex for you to understand. You would need to be trained and therefore you could not realistically craft this item leaving it UNCRAFTABLE : Average Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: This class of citizen could have spent weeks on this project ICLY, they must tinker around and learn by either basic knowledge with trail and error with assembling each part. (it would be wise to do it would another person) Or have a mentor train you in the art of crafting the weapon. The revolver is rarely seen and us not generally used by the CCA, so knowledge of how to craft it is very low. The effectiveness at this class would also leave it at a LOW EFFICIENCY : Long time Refugees/Basic Lambda



- Experienced: depending on the knowledge and use of weapons and tinkering would begin to develop an excellent understanding of how to craft this item, though, unless obtained from a high ranking CCA unit, will only be able to succeed MEDIUM EFFICIENCY High Level Lambda (Experienced Leaders and Officers)



X-Bow Crossbow:
- Inexperienced: This Taboo art of hunting would far surpass the average mind as far as how to assemble the weapon and therefore leave it UNCRAFTABLEAverage Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: Despite your knowledge with crafting hunting/survival type weapons, the Modified X-Bow's shear design and style will never enter your mind unless you are brought up to building it by someone a lot more knowledgeable on the matter. You would need to spend an extensive amount of training time IC over the course of and IC month at least, to be able to craft this item, but even at this stage it is UNCRAFTABLELong time Refugees/Basic Lambda



- Experienced: your knowledge of this item would have to be derrived only from the most experienced of lambda leaders in the world. You would have spent so much time and effort into learning the art of this optimal hunting bow's design. Your shear time spent and skill, even though the weapon would seem simple at first would undoubtedly leave it at HIGH EFFICIENCY (As the method of building this rifle is passed down through the lambda ranks making it lambda born) : High Level Lambda (Experienced Leaders and Officers)


Clothing:
-----------
All Rebel Clothing:
- Inexperienced: The suit design would really not realistically phase your mind nor would the way of crafting it. : UNCRAFTABLE : Average Dwelling Citizen, Refugees



- Trained: Despite your knowledge with crafting hunting/survival type weapons, the Modified X-Bow's shear design and style will never enter your mind unless you are brought up to building it by someone a lot more knowledgeable on the matter. You would need to spend an extensive amount of training time IC over the course of and IC month at least, to be able to craft this item, but even at this stage it is EFFICIENCY DEPENDS ON THE IC LEVEL OF KEVLAR USED/BUILT : All Lambda Members


Explosives:
-----------
Breaches:
- Inexperienced: This tactical piece of equippment would be far to complex for the average person to understand how it works, even if they have found everything they would need to craft it. They would have to find an existing breach to disassemble first and train themselves or be taught by a suitable mentor willing to teach them : UNCRAFTABLE : Average Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: You have spent time and taken action to find one of these pieces of equipment and have disassembled and learned how to successfully put together the piece of equipment for use and now know how to craft this useful tool by using an explosive substance : CRAFTABLELong time Refugees/Basic Lambda



Grenade:
- Inexperienced: The only grenade around being a CCA created form of explosive, the average citizen would have 0 knowledge or comprehension with the assembling of this deadly device at all and would need to establish a way of learning  UNCRAFTABLE : Average Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: You have learned how to disassemble the CCA grenade through many days of IC time through dangerous but well spent trail and error. You now know how they assemble this deadly device to an extent and are able to craft them given the tools and have either spent time with a mentor or crafted through tinkering and such : CRAFTABLE : Long time Refugees/Basic Lambda




Tech:
-----------
The Handheld Radio:
- Inexperienced: The Handheld radio is a very complex piece of machinery which is using wave frequencies that connect to a satellite and using them to communicate with others making this very advanced piece of electronic gadget UNCRAFTABLE : Average Dwelling Citizen



- Trained: You would need electrician training of some kind or just plenty of time ot mess around with radio's to figure out how it is they exactly function: CRAFTABLE : Long time Refugees/Basic Lambda


MATERIAL CONTRABAND:
Level 2: Refined or Reclaimed Metal of any type/Unauthorized Tools
Level 3: Refined Electronics of any kind.
Level 4: Ammunition Casings 
Level 5: Broken Weapon Parts
